Reliv International, Chesterfield, MO, has released GlucAffect, a powder-based supplement intended to reduce blood glucose levels and help control weight. The product contains the potent antioxidant Pycnogenol. In an eight-week clinical study of 50 overweight individuals with moderately elevated blood glucose levels, subjects taking GlucAffect lowered their fasting blood glucose by an average of 30%. Those individuals also lost an average of 16 pounds. Both results are statistically significant when compared with results for the control group.
